Market Understanding: Support through Workshops and Seminars
Local professionals lead workshops, seminars, and Q&A sessions offering insights into culture, business etiquette, manners, and basic legal regulations. These sessions aim to enhance participants' understanding of the market as a whole. (Conducted in English)
5-minute presentation and 5-minute Q&A session (English only, no interpreters). Participants for the local program will be selected based on their performance in the Domestic Program and Pitch Day.

October 4th, 2023 - "Speed dating" pitch event with local companies and potential investors at Japan House
All participating startups were invited. Japanese-American investors, entrepreneurs, and Japanese stakeholders investors who are interested in Japanese startups were at the event (approximately 100 people), and speed dating sessions were held at each company's booth.

October 19th, 2024 - Pitch event at the Consul General’s official residence
The pitch event was held for participating startups in Local Program #2, and was attended by approximately 60 investors and media. Forbes, LA Downtown News, and The Argonaut reported on this event.

Flexible and self-directed schedule based on each participant's priorities, including meetings with potential business partners, meetings with VCs, market research, business meetings and conference participation in other cities, etc. Local mentors will support the creation of business opportunities, including matchmaking, as needed (Conducted in English).

Beyond JAPAN Zero to X is a program designed to nurture entrepreneurs and leaders who will drive the next generation of innovation and contribute to Japan's growth strategy. This program provides personalized assistance and training specifically tailored to participants' grasp of startup phases and the North American business landscape. It aims to empower participants to take proactive steps and optimize their effectiveness.
This program enables participants to maximize their time efficiently, prioritizing business success and optimal outcomes. It focuses on independent tasks such as validating business ideas, crafting MVPs, and acquiring customers. Support and training are readily available as required to aid participants in their endeavors.
Local business professionals provide mentoring, training, workshops, networking, individual matching, and other business opportunities (Conducted in English). They also provide consultation (Conducted in Japanese and English) on issues and concerns unique to overseas expansion from Japan due to differences in business practices between Japan and the U.S.
To make it easier for early-stage startup founders to participate, the Beyond Japan Program and the Japanese government eases the financial burden by fully subsidizing all expenses for travel, accommodation, and the program during the US training period.
